Matagorda VINELink Became IVSS
Texas replaced the county VINE and VINELink interface with Texas IVSS-Counties on September 1, 2025. Existing registrations were migrated. Portal users were asked to update passwords, while phone and text notifications continued through the new provider. Calling the current county service “VINELink” without this transition would send a Matagorda County searcher toward an old workflow.
IVSS-Counties can carry events supplied by participating county entities. Those can include booking, release, court setting or change, transfer to TDCJ, escape, and death. It offers English and Spanish notices by text, phone, or email. Matagorda County participation was not independently confirmed from a static official list during research. Matagorda Release Alert Coverage
Choose the system by custody type. IVSS-Counties is the possible route for a Matagorda County Jail booking and linked county court event. The separate TDCJ IVSS covers state-prison, state-jail, parole, and mandatory-supervision events. A transfer from Matagorda County Jail to TDCJ ends county custody but is not release to the community. Move to the state system after the transfer.

Register Matagorda Release Notifications
Registration is linked to a specific person and the notification methods offered by the live service. The current process uses an account and contact confirmation. Users can select text, telephone, or email where available, set preferred hours and blackout dates, pause or update preferences, and review notification history.

The registration should be saved only after the correct person and jurisdiction have been matched.

- Provide the account and contact details required by the live form, then finish its confirmation process.
- Find the named person by name or official identifier and confirm Matagorda County.
- Select text, voice call, or email as the portal makes those methods available.
- Set preferred hours, blackout dates, language, and other offered preferences.
- Save the subscription and review its notification history after login.
- Use each notice as a prompt to verify the jail, court, or TDCJ record.
The four-digit PIN described in the old Texas VINE brochure is historical. Only follow a PIN prompt if a current live screen expressly asks for it. The post-transition instructions do not state that the former PIN acknowledgement is required.
Released Matagorda Records May Vanish
The county portal’s no-longer-in-custody warning is especially important for a released-person search. A notice may arrive near the event, but the person may later vanish from public results. The absence can also reflect a spelling issue, identifier mismatch, participation gap, lag, transfer, or a record outside the county system.
Confirm a county release with the Matagorda booking-out sheet. A current roster serves a different purpose. It can help show who remains in custody, but a person’s removal from it does not identify bond, time served, transfer to TDCJ, federal pickup, immigration custody, or another warrant. IVSS corroborates events. The custodian’s record resolves them.
Matagorda State Release Notifications
A Matagorda County prosecution can lead to placement at any TDCJ unit. No state prison is physically located in the county, yet the state systems still govern a person committed to TDCJ. Search the TDCJ offender record by name, TDCJ number, SID, and date of birth as available. Then use TDCJ IVSS for custody, parole, or mandatory-supervision notifications.
TDCJ information can include offense, location, incarceration history, projected release date, scheduled release date and location after favorable action, and current status. These dates are not equal. A projected date is a calculation. A scheduled date can change during release-certificate review. The post-event release or discharge entry is stronger evidence.
If the online offender search fails, TDCJ accepts a no-charge information inquiry at pia@tdcj.texas.gov. Include the full name and TDCJ number, or the date of birth or approximate age and county of conviction. Ask for the exact status and dates needed instead of a broad correctional file.
Matagorda VINELink Check Limits
IVSS data comes from participating agencies. Reports can lag, lack detail, or be incomplete. Matagorda participation itself must be checked in the current portal. The service does not replace the Matagorda County Jail booking-out record, a court order, or a TDCJ discharge record.
Use the proper fallback. County custody calls for Jail Records, Judicial Records, the jail line, and a written records request. State custody calls for the TDCJ offender search, TDCJ IVSS, and TDCJ information service. Federal custody calls for BOP. Immigration custody calls for ICE. When asking Matagorda County for proof, describe an existing record instead of asking the County to research a legal conclusion. A useful request identifies the person, aliases, date of birth if known, approximate booking dates, and booking or SO number if known. Ask for the booking-in and booking-out sheet, recorded release date and time, release type, authority, holds, and receiving agency if transferred. This gives the custodian a defined record to locate.
